It may be Chinese disinformation, so disclaimer, but there are folks claiming that it could also be India as well.

I would put my money on "both, mostly china".

I would put my money on "both, mostly china".

Hadn't heard the India bit but it wouldn't surprise me. Reasonably industrial states with a culture of cheating and government systems that keep the big fish from being accountable, I would expect cheating.

Perhaps the tide will change for China and their impact on climate in the world. Ironically... they've just built a Thorium reactor, which has several advantages to traditional reactors. It's cleaner, safer and the abundance of the material makes it much cheaper. The idea has been around for while, (oddly...I remember hearing this being a solution over 10 years ago ) so far, it seems they're leading the way, in this regard, to a possible alternative energy source.
