Corporations now spend more lobbying Congress than taxpayers spend funding Congress

Well, this isn't good:

Corporations now spend about $2.6 billion a year on reported lobbying expenditures – more than the $2 billion we spend to fund the House ($1.16 billion) and Senate ($820 million).

What could possibly go wrong?

The corporate lobbyists spending more than the legislative body spends on itself. And that doesn't even begin to count the under the table shit and the political contributions. Why you got no answers on this one...I don't know. Let's face it us atheists are too blind to see god's ugly mug staring us in the face so I guess they might as well miss the corruption of our government too. Damned atheists anyway!

That's not a very good comparison. The money taxpayers spend on office supplies, staff, and to keep the lights on is not comparable to money spent on campaigns. Campaigns are a form of advertizing, so let's compare it to how much corporations spend on that a year: about 170 billion. So a little more that 1% of the corporate advertizing budget goes to finance campaigns. More money is probably spent on convincing us to buy Tide than vote for Hillary. Granted, my comparison is flawed as well (because the Corps are buying influence), but this is really a stupid article.

And in any case last I checked congress costs us about 4 trillion per year.
