CTMU, Chris Langan and Mega Foundation

I have been interested in the CTMU for many years though I don't think I've ever agreed with any of it.

Here are some "papers" about the CTMU:

His 2020 paper talks about the Simulation Hypothesis, which I am a fan of.

I can barely understand any of his formal writings.

The Wikipedia page about him has some claims that make me feel concerned....

Chris winning $250,000 on a game show is impressive though (which called him "The Smartest Man in America")



The CTMU is linked to "Mega Foundation" -

"....created to implement programs that aid in the development of severely gifted individuals and their ideas..." - it is called an "ultra-high IQ community".

Their Facebook page sometimes has CTMU quotes for their cover image...

Wikipedia has removed the dedicated CTMU page and now there is only one paragraph on it as part of the Chris Langan page:

which says that Chris Langan claims the CTMU "can prove the existence of God, the soul and an afterlife, using mathematics".

Looked at the Wiki--initial impression: theory of reality sounds like Ayn Rand (another person very impressed with her own alleged intelligence) for the digital age. At least he hasn't started a full blown cult, unlike another "Smartest Man in the World", Keith Raniere (can't be bothered to look up the correct spelling of this damp toadstool's surname).

So, the ideas he is flirting with are interesting and not ideas that serve to never see flirtation, but merely that one must flirt with care because you don't want that concept getting ideas.

Ideally, if one can impugn the universe and it's geometry as an image created by a particular confluence of math, that math may contain implications of entities that are otherwise hidden when viewed only from "within the context". If the thing that predicts the exact shape of the universe also predicts "gods", well, here's me hoping it also predicts "how gods die", or "how to become one".

If the implication is that our thoughts are not suborned by a reality but that a reality is suborned and projected from our thoughts that's just fucking dumb.
