Defending Saudi Arabia

No.

Its not just an anachronistic absolute monarchy, its an absurdly organized anachronistic absolute monarchy.

A country founded in 1901. The recognition as a sovereign nation by the US was practically conditioned to further explorations for oil wells, which surely have been detected already years before but was never told to the new Saudi Arabia monarch.

The given of assistance to Saudi Arabia was an act looking for protecting the richness of oil rather than protecting the monarchy, which, obviously is not accepted by a country based in democracy and constitutional rights. But, money-oil talks.

The king (royal family) of Saudi Arabia feels saved by the US protection against its enemies. But, this king is not the idiot many think he is, because under the table Saudi Arabia supports many groups which are against the West.

On the other hand, the West -as US with Noriega as an example- also plays the game of "protector" while sucking like crazy the oil tits, waiting for the right moment to declare "officially" Saudi Arabia as a monarchy which is found against the US principles and the free world.

Until that day, when Saudi Arabia is not needed anymore, the king of Saudi Arabia will enjoy his life as the ruler of that country.

Good for him.

Oil infrastructure was built by ARAMCO the Arabian American Oil Company.

Like the Beverly Hillbillies, the Saudis were backwards camel jockeys who struck oil. Eventually they nationalized the oil.

At the bottom of my places to visit is North Korea. Next to last is Saudi Arabia. None recently, in the 90s there were beheadings in public. A Lebanese who had a psychic show in Lebanon was arrested in SA for witchcraft and given a death sentence. Do not know how it went.

Sibat was reportedly released and sent back to Lebanon after four years in jail, presumably because he was foreign and famous; but SA beheaded a Saudi man for witchcraft in 2012. In 2016 they beheaded a prominent Shiite ayatollah just for leading nonviolent anti-government protests.

Yeah.
Embarrassing failure of a psychic.
Didnt see it coming, didnt understand he was lured into a trap by religious police didnt foresee he should have stayed safely in Lebanon exploiting credulity of gullible audience.

Bit like these two psychics choosing the wrong table in a restaurant.

And yet here you are, your own nation being used as a means to an end by "Backward Camel Jockeys" wonder how low on the food chain that makes you.

The hypocrisy of arming SA and demonizing Iran has not been lost in the media. Wealthy Arabs have funded terrorism against Israel. There exposes in the 90s on anti American rexts in SA funded schools over here.

Summarizing what I have seen presented, SA is headed towards instability. A lot of healthy young men with nothing to do and most people live off of govt oil revenues. No culture of work ethic, essentially a welfare state.

They are pathologically duplicitous. Obama actually called them fence sitters.

As near as I can tell SA is just a typical hereditary dictatorship and sponsor of Islamic terrorism, certainly no better than Iran, but painted the opposite way because the USA has taken them as an ally.

The far more interesting intellectual exercise here would be to try to defend the USA in its sponsorship of Saudi Arabia, with the claim that it isn't selling out ethical principles in exchange for oil. Or if somebody really can defend the Saudis themselves with a good argument, I'd love to read that.

Relatively Iranians are better off than Saudis. If Iran managed to get sanctions lifted they are poised to grow economically. That is the real threat to Israel.

Iran has pro-western middle class. Islam-crazy constrained to poor and uneducated.
in SA there are no middle class, they are all seem to be rich and uneducated. Not sure about how islam-craziness is distributed there.
