Do Morals and Ethics Really Matter?

Yes, there can a difference between morality and law, but law is our western codified moral code..fraud, murder, slander, thefts, adultery and so on. What is moral will vary from person to person and group to group.

I looked at the constitutions of Mudlim states. Typically there is a caveat that no law conflicts with the Koran.

A distinction between civil law and morality is not universal.

Christians on the right are in a continuous struggle to codify aspects of the bible into law. In Ct I grew up with Blue Laws based in religion, like no work on Sunday.

Form anyone, have you ever faced a moral-ethical dilemma where doing the right thing as you saw it could hurt you in some way.
I know that in the business world once people have families and mortgages even simple workplace ethical situations take on significance.

What are your real world experiences, and does anything from philosophy guide you. Reality vs philosophical debate.
