Republicans opposed to Donald Trump are making a last-ditch effort to put forth an alternative to the GOP presidential nominee.
Evan McMullin, a onetime chief policy director for House Republicans and a former CIA officer, is launching an independent presidential campaign with the help of political group Better for America.

Well, here we go. The question is, can McMullin get any votes at all? Can he tip the election away from Trump? Will he be neglegible in the end? Will this be mere clown action or a serious problem for Trump?

I suspect this will be an embarrassing flop, McMullin may take some votes, but it would be from those who wouldn't vote for Trump anyway.
