Ex-Trump surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes takes job with Kremlin-backed propaganda outlet RT

Scottie Nell Hughes, a former CNN personality and frequent surrogate for Donald Trump, has reportedly taken a job with the Kremlin-backed news agency RT.

The Daily Beast reported on Thursday that Hughes had leveraged her role as one of the top surrogates for the 2016 Trump campaign.

In a status update on Facebook, Hughes recently revealed that she is now employed by RT, which was forced to register as a foreign agent following Russian attacks on U.S. election systems in 2016.

“Two sources familiar with the situation tell The Daily Beast that Hughes and RT have been in serious talks in recent weeks for her to assume a full-time position at the Washington, D.C., bureau,” The Daily Beast noted. “The position discussed was for a news anchor job, not for her to serve purely as a conservative, pro-Trump pundit, as she used to do at CNN.”

In a tweet on Wednesday, Hughes seemed to already be promoting her new network.
