WASHINGTON DC -- Among computer experts, the development and distribution of AI Art generation programs was creating a lot of fear over the potential for misuse in propaganda. The software, which is capable of generating very high quality, life like images based on simple text entries, was believed to be a portal to a social media landscape where fake images would be indiscernible from reality.
The announcement of access to this technology sent red flags up everywhere, among computer security and social media experts. However, based on early analysis, the worries appear to be overblown.
"It turns out that while this could have been used for nefarious purposes," noted Bob Walkers of the National Security Fellows and Whatnot (NSFW). "But 99% of its use turned out to be for high grade fantasy... umm... art. You know, women, celebrities, Sailor Moon, tentacles, a lot of Alyson Hannigan, double, triple, quadruple... stuff like that type of... art."
The NSFW indicated that they would continue to monitor the use of the released AI art project, however, based on existing trends, the likelihood of misuse for political or social gains seems unlikely.
