At the very least, completely tone-deaf....more likely just straight racism....

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp was called out this week for creating a video that shows a black person without photo ID being denied voting privileges, while a white person is allowed to cast his ballot.

The video, which was published to Kemp’s YouTube page in 2016, is still being promoted by the Georgia Secretary of State’s website. The instructional video was recently noticed by Anjali Enjet of The Nation.

Wow. So on the SOS website #BrianKemp has an advance voting video. Take a look at who gets to vote and who doesn’t. Nice messaging, Kemp. Please just #resign already. #gapol #gagov #TeamAbrams

The video uses children as actors to make its point about having the proper ID. A white child is used as an example of a good voter with a valid ID. Soon after, a black girl is presented as someone who should be stopped from voting because she does not have proper identification.

Kemp is such an asshole, but I'm not completely giving up. I attended a Stacey Abrams rally earlier today. It was awesome. The biggest surprise was that about a third of the people there were white. I live in a small city that is split between the races, but in the past, most of the white folks were conservatives. Most probably still are, but I've never seen as many white people come to a Democratic rally in the area where I live. The crowd was very enthusiastic.

Stacey mentioned her opponent's attempts to suppress the vote. She is an amazing, strong, brilliant charismatic woman. Voter turnout so far has surpassed the last presidential election according to a woman I know who works the polls. I even saw a few very old white adults who appeared to be from the more rural areas of the county. Everyone was very enthusiastic about Abrams. Maybe there is hope. I'm going to have to grieve for several days if she loses.

She is the best candidate I've ever seen in Georgia from either party. She is the perfect example of the American Dream, something that Republicans like to talk about, but when a poor black woman overcomes all kinds of obstacles to become highly educated, then becomes the first black female minority leader in the Georgia Congress, and goes on to successfully win the Democratic primaries, they don't say a word. Stacey also knows how to work across the isle. She's as practical as she is progressive. I've never been as excited about a candidate before.

So far, I haven't heard of anyone being denied the vote. Kemp is trying to scare people away from the polls. He's corrupt and imo, has already proven himself to be incompetent as Sec. of State. Sadly, I still know some Democrats that rarely vote, or have stopped voting all together.

I voted on Tuesday and while most of those in line were older white adults, there were more black folks than I've seen in past elections. I think I will make another donation to the Abrams campaign before the end of the day. I might visit Dem headquarters tomorrow and volunteer to take people to the polls.

They forgot the first rule of politically correct casting: you always cast the white guy as the bad guy. Casting a black person (or any other preferred minority) as the bad guy is racist.

So, he either could have had both people of the same race, or of differing races, and in either of the roles set. There's no way in hell race doesn't get considered when discussing poll monitors, so it was brought up. So either they selected these roles in the video as a dog whistle, or in flagrant disregard for optics. Neither is good.
