I’m looking into trying the “Harvest Host” subscription for an upcoming vacation.

In a nutshell: RV parking at farms, breweries, wineries and museums.
- For them: a little extra income for letting people park overnight in their lot or yard.
- For us: pay a yearly fee of $100 and park as many times as we want.

It seems to include a large number of options in cities, as well, which helps us save some money, but also allows last minute stops and the ability to change plans on the road.

We have a large van with bed and this suits our travel style pretty well. It would fold into larger trips where we have National park stays and family stays and this would be the interim stops.

Wondering if anyone has done this?

Can you opt out or are you stuck in, like a time share?

You can opt out. It’s more like a subscription than a time share.

Well, this worked out pretty well! We spent two nights with the system. One was a brewery in West Virginia, the other was a railroad museum. The brewery had good beer and decent food, flat place to park and no cost beyond what we spent at the bar. The museum was in a small city also in WV and walking distance to restaurants and bars. We felt good about the no-cost overnight parking and the hosts were really helpful. So far so good.
