Hagee has been known for inflammatory rhetoric over the years. Previously, he said God wants welfare recipients to go hungry, and demanded that God either punish America for LGBTQ acceptance or “apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.” He has also claimed that Hitler was a “hunter” sent by God to drive the Jews back to Israel.

Despite all this, the Trump administration has freely associated with him, with Vice President Mike Pence joining him at a Christians United for Israel event in 2017.

He's the kind of person you learn to protect yourself from, if you learn anything. It's of academic interest to consider exactly how his brain is operating. He sounds like the type of person who only responds to physical measures, the standard bully type that requires the memory of physical trauma in order to have behavior modified. Short some significant impairment or abnormality learning eventually will occur, however.

It's always important to remember that we do not all come from the same upbringing. Some of us carry a lot of scars that are impossible to forget while others cherish nurturing memories. Those circumstances, however, do not absolve us of responsibility for our actions. But I doubt his brain presently thinks about such things.

Wikipedia says he doesn't believe in global warning (what a shock), is virulently anti-Catholic, thinks Hitler had Jewish ancestry (that part is hazy in the article -- or maybe just crazy), and one of his specialties is the blood moon prophecy, which I don't have the patience to describe. Actually, I barely read that paragraph, because it was too pathological. In other words, the perfect guy to will your estate to. This is America! The Daily Beast reported on the announcement in church by Hagee's son that the dad has covid. The article described the scene in Cornerstone Church in San Antonio: "Hundreds of maskless congregants sang and prayed, swaying together in the pews."
Another Trumpian science denier. Why do I get the feeling that few of those singers, prayers, and swayers will learn from this?

And to think that 'good' Repugs found Hagee to extreme in 2008 to embrace his backing. By 2016, that was out the window, and Hagee (and worse) was welcomed into the Greedy Old Pervert Village.
