The Office of Special Counsel on Thursday recommended the removal of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway from federal office for violating the Hatch Act, which bars federal employees from engaging in political activity in the course of their work.

The report submitted to President Trump found that Conway violated the Hatch Act on numerous occasions by “disparaging Democratic presidential candidates while speaking in her official capacity during television interviews and on social media.” The agency described her as a “repeat offender.”

“In interview after interview, she uses her official capacity to disparage announced candidates, which is not allowed,” he said, adding: “What kind of example does that send to the federal workforce? If you’re high enough up in the White House, you can break the law, but if you’re a postal carrier or a regular federal worker, you lose your job?”

And, once again, the Trump administration misuses the concept of free speech. Nobody is denying Conway free speech. She's just expected to adhere to certain laws when she acts in her official capacity.

If the president does not enforce Hatch Act violations, it “reduces the force and effect” of the law, said Andrew Herman, an attorney in Washington who specializes in election law and congressional ethics and investigations.

“All of these things are largely based on respect and adherence to the rule of law. But if those things don’t matter to you, then there’s very little recourse within the executive branch,” Herman said. “He’s essentially writing the Hatch Act out of existence. He’s telling Congress, ‘I don’t care what you enact. I’m not going to faithfully meet my duties to make sure that the law is upheld.’ ”

The Office of Special Counsel has authority over the executive branch but cannot force the president to make any administrative decisions about whom he employs, Herman said.

Of course nothing will happen regarding Conway. This is just more example of the corrupt behavior of the Trump administration. They violate the law and give the finger to those who encourage them to enforce the law.

Kellyanne Conway - Should be Removed for Violations of the Hatch Act

CNN - is reporting here

she violated the Hatch Act (1939 law that seeks to keep government functions nonpartisan) by disparaging democratic candidates on numerous occasions. But its up to the orange wonder whether or not to remove her. The White House of course is saying that the Office of Special Counsel has misinterpreted the law.

So hasn't Trump violated this same act on almost a daily basis?
