To me there is something that sits right in the pocket like the keyboards of the 70s. The technology was just the right level and was mostly analog. The digital of the 80s was to early and it was not ripe, it all sounds so tinny now. The 70s stuff still sound so lush to me, even if it can be dated. Somehow, I forget that it is dated.

I am a geek about instruments though I don't play. I just love the tones and timbres of them.

and of course the theme to Taxi.

Anyone else?

ETA, if anyone here plays keyboards this is an amazing 1:11:21 long video about the fender rhodes. At about 37 minutes in he shows how the effect for Led Zeppelin's 'No Quarter" was done.

I love the organ sound Deep Purple and Uriah Heep albums from the early 70s. Don't know much about the equipment but I think they were Hammond organs.
