looking for some music recommendations

Ok, I recently discovered these two songs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6_ACv6kQBs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ornSpLMUzbw
and I really like them.
1)What style of music would they be classified as?
2) Can you recommend any songs similar to them?
I know the second song is from a group called Los Lobos, but most of their other songs don't seem to be in the same style

The Los Lobos sounds like a cumbia to me. I was told it was a Columbian style, but it's played many places. For example, from El Salvador:

The Mr Pickles rhythm has a western feel which reminds me of country like Ghost Riders in the Sky, with some Bo Diddly in the toms:

But the vocals sound more like a combination of say Righteous Brothers and LA, like Los Lonely Boys:

Well, I was thinking 'Los Lobos' that is easy enough...but I hadn't heard that song before. Not quite like La Bamba and others of their more standard fair. The only thing I can think of is telling you to check out Santana's work in Multi-Dimensional Warrior and Lotus. Both are 2 CD sets.

If you like the Los Lobos stuff, you might find Joe King Carasco worth exploring.. As to the first, it has an 80's alternative vibe to it. New Wave. Tons of stuff there.
