So I'm trying to find out which candidate is the least hawkish, which to me is the most sensible, on matters of military activity. In other words - who is the least likely to try to go out and kill lots of poor brown people.

I found this chart on The American Conservative of all places. I find that odd considering that conservatives are very hawkish, and this particular site seems to be the opposite.

Assuming, perhaps implausibly, that these should be equally weighted, we have a 1.67 for Clinton, a 3.00 for Sanders, a 2.33 for Trump, a 1.17 for Cruz, a 2.00 for Kasich, a 0.00 for Rubio, and a 0.33 for Carson. Of course this leaves out Afghanistan and Yugoslavia, making this the GPA for the most recent semester.

This actually goes a LONG way to explain why libertarians are very sympathetic to Bernie. He gets the top grade. This is also why many conservatives like underseer are unhappy with Trump and willing to vote for Hillary should Trump be the nominee.

I found this chart on The American Conservative of all places.

Here is what their About page says:
The American Conservative is published by the American Ideas Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to educate and inform Americans about the need for fiscal responsibility, a prudent foreign policy, and the protection of civil liberties.

Since they are so similar to you, why are you surprised that you deliberately went to their website and found something you like?

Conservatives are not monolithic in thought on all issues, neither are liberals. Rand Paul was probably the least hawkish on the Republican side during this race; Bernie Sanders on the Democratic side. I do think that the remaining Republicans Trump is probably the least likely one to start more wars; I can't say I'm sure of that though. I'd need more information on Kasich on that one. Of the remaining candidates Sanders is, IMO, least likely to get us into more wars.

This chart and article were referred to me by a friend.

I do find it interesting that they gave "the socialist" the highest grade.

The graph is unclear. What do the grades mean? What do the "Issues" mean?

If you get an A on military spending, does that mean you support it, or oppose it, or promote some other military policy favored by the graders?

What does "Russia" mean? What policies does the category reflect and, again, what grade would indicate support or opposition to said policy?

This is a very bad graph.

If Hillary gets an F on Libya and Syria, it probably means that hawkishness is frowned upon. If you really want to see if I'm right about that, the word "source" in the original post is actually a link to the article that the chart comes from. And in that article they explain the grades.

Keep in mind the republican opinion on Libya would probably be quite different had there been a Republican in office. Beware mistaking knee jerk partisan obstructionism for a principled position. The 'A' for Cruz and Kasich probably need to be revised.

I do like how this graphic shows just how extreme Rubio is. Lots of people pretend he is a moderate.

In this chart being opposed to violent US intervention gets you an A.

Nothing surprising about this great Socialist being opposed to violent US foreign intervention.
