Well, today I got to vote. I voted in the Democratic Primary and in 20 minutes the last votes in far West Texas will be in and we can tote up the results.

Big news will be Democrat Beto O'Rourke who will be running against Ted Cruz and may well be able to defeat him. A passel of possible representatives may help flip the house My representative, Gene Green, a reliable Democrat, is retiring, We will probably get one Sylvia Garcia, present day state Senator. She went to Austin vowing to oppose "right winged extremism" at the capitol. Lots of judges. This time around, not too many Democratic kook candidates to avoid.

There has been a vast surge in Democratic voting this time, a bad omen for the GOP. Panicky Republicans are waving the flag of "Nancy Pelosi running the house iffen you don't gits out 'n vote!".

Political junkies will have a blast doing an autopsy on this election. A record number of Democrats were running this time, including a record number of women and Latinos.
