Maybe they should vote through a sheet

And? Something that might could possibly happen (maybe) is being taken under advisement for the consideration of changing a date - pushing an election back a whole decade.

Sorry, I misread that. It pushes the election back a week. Possibly.

And? Considering Shemini Atzeret is only slightly less important than Yom Kippur, changing the date doesn't seem that much of a deal especially as it is only a week. Imagine the shit show if Canada insisted on having an election on Ash Wednesday or Good Friday. This is an easy fix, and that's even if it happens.

How about an election week?

Costs, yes, but aren’t there a variety of kinds of elections that could be shifted to coincide with a range that exceeded any particular single day? How about an election period that expanded beyond a single day—maybe not a whole week but rather a two day period. Two half days? Overnight from noon of one day to noon of the next? The point is to brainstorm a method that transcends the traditional “pick a perfect day” mentality.
