So now the plan is to allow these plans to come back into existence so that people can use subsidies to buy health care insurance that doesn't provide health care coverage. All the while raising the cost for premiums for people who want actual health care insurance.
The potential good news is that this amendment may technically not meet the standard for reconciliation. Though, I wouldn't doubt the Republicans would be willing to fudge that shit too. And moderates pretend they see issues, but this "compromise" to pretty much repeal ACA and leave little left, but consider it a replacement is probably swallowable to a Republican controlled government that is desperate to do anything to show they finally killed "Obamacare".
Yup, the plan is to repeal and replace with another repeal. Sen. Cruz, as well as other idiots in Congress think this will help. Because before ACA, over 10 million people lacked any health coverage at all... and these bullshit "insurance" plans existed already.article said:The fate of of legislation repealing and replacing ObamaCare could hinge on an amendment from Sen. Ted Cruz. The Texas Republican is pushing for a provision that would allow insurers to sell plans that do not comply with ObamaCare insurance regulations, so long as they also sell plans that comply with those rules. Cruz says giving insurers a path around the regulations should allow them to offer some plans at a lower cost.

Yeah, the key is to provide cheaper health care insurance that already existed before the ACA but didn't cover the people that needed health care.article said:In a June 23 Medium post, Lee wrote that “for all my frustrations about the process and my disagreements with the substance of [the Better Care Reconciliation Act], I would still be willing to vote for it if it allowed states and/or individuals to opt-out of the Obamacare system free-and-clear to experiment with different forms of insurance, benefits packages, and care provision options.”
