In the shadows of the scandal that shook the GOP with Rep. Householder, now the GOP is under threat again with a resolution put forth in the Legislature to impeach Republican Governor Mike Dewine. The shame that befell the GOP with the Householder bribery scandal is now magnified beyond belief with the crimes that Gov. Dewine is accused of, including: Violated the separation of powers by having the Ohio Department of Health issue orders, “Conspired” with Secretary of State Frank LaRose to cancel the March 17 primary election, Unconstitutionally ordered the closure of businesses,... wait... is this all about Covid-19? Wait... who is doing this?

Three Ohio House Republicans have drafted articles of impeachment against Gov. Mike DeWine, claiming many of his administration’s coronavirus orders are unconstitutional and violate Ohioans’ civil liberties.
JFCoaS, some in the GOP are brain dead. The good news is the movement to impeach Dewine is also DOA, but Rep. Cupp, the new Speaker of the Legislature's words weren't exactly comforting in his dismissal of the impeachment plan.

Legitimate debate and disagreement is occurring over the scope and breadth of some of the governor’s orders issued through the health department. I will continue to raise my concerns and disagreements and those of House members with the governor. However, informed dialogue and the law-making process are the best way to resolve these issues.
Seriously the GOP as a whole is brain dead. The guy is pretty much avowing the high crime in the criticism, just saying it isn't impeachable.

We are talking about a GOP Governor who currently has a 81% approval rating AMONG DEMOCRATS! It is actually only 74% among Republicans. What in the hell is wrong with these idiots?! Ohio has done pretty well Covid-19 wise. Gov. Dewine didn't buckle to Trump, and saved probably 500 to 1000 lives in Ohio in doing so. And there are radicals in his own party that want to fire him?!

Well, he didn't slobber on Trump's knobber, so the people who cackled such shrill laughter at, 'If you're not voting for me, you're not black,' are using the legislature to enforce an actual lockstep interpretation of what it MUST mean to claim to be Republican.

Economy uber lives,
Kool Aid uber brains,
Trump uber alles.

  • Has an 81% approval rating among Ohio Democrats.
They should have listed it as an article of impeachment.

I didn't vote for him -- still wouldn't -- can't stand the fact that my state is a red state and a Trump state (that is so embarrassing) -- but the fact is, I respect DeWine for what he did back in March. The trouble is, our shutdown wasn't enough, and now we have numerous hot spots in the state, along with the lemming population who insist on feeling violated when a society attempts to throttle a deadly virus. DeWine was talking normal common sense, but of course that's not a prized commodity in the Trump commune. Our nuttiest legislators come from south of I-70, where I believe this impeachment moonshine was fermented. I'm on the Erie shoreline. We say 'garage'. They say 'gararge'.

Yes, Dewine has done well. He was one of the first to say, "Hey... we should be doing something here!" And also agreed on not enough, but I'm not holding that against him. Had we suffocated the virus for two months, maybe this isn't quite the issue now. But all of this pussyfooting on restrictions has made it necessary to pussyfoot for another 4 to 6 months now. We may be stuck with this crap until June because we lacked the conviction to put things on pause for two months. And then of course, you have every one out there that thinks they are the only exception to the rule for traveling!
