(I sure thought we had a thread but all I'm finding is the wildlife and animal one)

I've been by this tree dozens of times--and yesterday I realized it's still alive!

(Bristlecone pine, the elevation is almost exactly 10,000'. Those things last for ages even when dead. Every dead one I see is simply slowly weathering away, not rotting like most wood would.)

Doesn't look it, this scraggy thing is the oldest known tree east of the Rockies, in North America. It almost dates back before the birth of President Biden.

Roughly a mile from my photo there is:
