He's also too young to have known the Pope's mother. Anyway it doesn't take a visit by the Pope to cause traffic jams which are constant due to a lack of decent roads and adequate public transportation.

Under Aquino's mother (president before him) 6 month contracts without holiday pay or health insurance were legalised. As a result many work for six months and then wait up to six months to get their job back or look for another.
There is a lot of age prejudice with many jobs in the press (which I saw) advertising for persons between 21 and 25.
Internet? It's one of the worst in Asia. Even on an unlimited plan the internet company restricts use if a lot of capacity is being used.

He definitely didn't win it with his good looks. He was a mayor for 20 years and has a reputation for eradicating lot of crime and drug pushing.

While I am in the Philippines we use a pre paid internet service. When it was post paid we receive enormous bills.
There are two main providers, Smart and Globe.
After using Smart on a one month plan it ceased after 3 days. The shop (as usual in the Philippines) refused to provide a refund.
We switched to Globe. Under the surf anywhere, anytime plan, each day the usage is restricted by the company on what it calls a 'Fair Use policy.

This is the best service but on one particular day I only managed about 3 hours use in 24 hours.

talkfreethought.org still works when the internet is slow surfing with google is slow to impossible and sometimes yahoo mail does not respond.

Banking: Always make sure you have extra cash even if you need to go the the ATM to draw money.
Frequently they stop working. If you mention this to the bank, the staff will say it is working but it is offline.
