This isn't particularly funny, but it did make for some good inside jokes. There's this habit I've gotten myself into over the years that inevitably makes me look stupid. It always starts out the same way. I'll ask a question, someone will respond, then I will ask a very stupid question.
Here's just the most recent example:
Q: When did I buy the hot wings?
R: The hot wings are in the freezer.
Q: Where are the hot wings?
At any rate, it does bring that look. You know, that look that speaks to my perceived level of intelligence. So, how did this make for some good inside jokes?
The other day, after being the repeated victim to my stupid questions, I was called out for an explanation. I spent over an hour going in depth over how this came to be. It ended with a single code word, "clock."
Now, I don't even have to use the word. I can just look over at her and she immediately recognizes just how damn often people pay no clue to the questions people ask.
Ps. Needless to say, I have not given all the details. I figure some of you will get it.
