Written tongue-in-cheek, but I think he's right: Trump wants to win the presidency, but he doesn't actually want to BE president; it's waaaaay too time-consuming, and not very profitable. So make him an offer to step aside.

Since Trump plans to effectively play the POTUS on TV for 4 years, maybe 8 years, he has no incentive to be bought out.

That entirely depends on who he chooses for VP. Bush had Cheney. Would you want Trump leave it to Nutty Newt Gingrich to be shadow president?
