I don't watch basketball much (read 'almost never'). But I heard about this Russell Westbrook guy on NPR. He is currently averaging just over 30 pts a game... and 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
For those playing at home, that'd be a triple double for the season average. The last player to do that was Oscar Robertson. Anyone that knows anything can vaguely recall he is old, so this would be something that neither Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Magic Johnson, or even Danny Ainge has accomplished.
The player is three triple doubles away from tying Oscar Robertson's record for Triple Doubles in a season, and he is one pace to hit it.
Is it just me, because I don't pay much attention, or is this season performance going under the radar? I'm pretty certain that if someone was sneaking on Ted Williams consecutive games with a hit record, I'd hear about it. And I think this record is on that level.
