With the recent season and potentially career ending injuries to veteran QB Rodgers and Browns RB Chubb, tens of thousands of fantasy football teams have been left in ruins. Generally, insurance companies help provide support to fantasy teams who lose high profile talent. However, after the difficult season last year that led to injuries to Tua Tagovailoa and Lamar Jackson as well as the hefty suspension to Deshaun Watson, insurance companies were finding it difficult to stay in business and began leaving fantasy football for less risky sports such as Cricket and Ice Hockey.
The void left behind has been devastating to fantasy football teams who were counting on big years from Rodgers and Chubb, with losses of anywhere from 15 to 45 fantasy points per game depending on the setup. With little talent remaining, the season would be lost if not for Federal support in the form of a bipartisan aid package that'll supply teams that lost their star players up to 10 points a game.
There was some criticism from teams who didn't lose talent and felt it was unfair that other teams were getting an unfair advantage, while some teams receiving the support felt it wasn't enough.
