Just had a few primary / special elections / mayoral elections. The results, Dems won in upset in Jacksonville mayoral race, won in the suburbs of Philly, and Trump's asshole pick beat out the establishment DeSantis pick in the KY Governor primary.

This tells us a few things... Trump still has significant influence. The Dems are holding their own in the suburbs (without needing coat tails). Crime was considered an issue in Jacksonville... and the GOP incumbent lost.

Conclusion? Status quo. I have this weird feeling that economy and issues (other than abortion) could have no influence in the 2024 election.

Speaking about abortion, one other note, North Carolina is showing the GOP getting scared to death over abortion. They passed a new 12 week limit, over-riding the Governor's veto. If you are savvy at math, you'll notice that 12 is greater than 6 and 0. The GOP is desperate to show they are against abortion, but now clearly fear electoral repercussions for banning it. North Carolina is the first purple state I think to lessen access, but still have access. Ohio, Florida have tried to kill it.
