Shisha bar attack is the latest sign that Germany has a big far-right problem

Germany has a growing far-right problem. The deadly terrorist attack in Hanau has made that clear.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said the gunman suspected of killing 10 people -- nine of whom had "immigrant backgrounds" -- appeared to have acted out of "right-wing extremist, racist motives." Prosecutors said he posted xenophobic conspiracy theories online and was believed to have a far-right background.

The mass shooting in Hanau was Germany's third deadly attack linked to right-wing suspects in just a year. There have been countless other foiled attacks and threats.

Experts said the recent rise in violent right-wing attacks goes hand in hand with the growing success of the Alternative for Germany (AfD), which in 2017 became the first far-right party to win seats in Germany's parliament in almost 60 years.

"The AfD, as a far-right party, promotes apocalyptic far-right rhetoric, which ... paints a picture of an immediate threat that has to be addressed in any way possible," said Jan Rathje, a political scientist at the Amadeu Antonio Foundation in Berlin, which runs educational projects and researches right-wing extremism, racism and anti-Semitism.

 Hanau shootings

The gunman was identified as 43-year-old Tobias Rathjen, a far-right extremist.[2][3] He published a manifesto and videos on his personal website, showing his political beliefs and theories surrounding US President Donald Trump stealing his slogans,[21] eugenics, and expressing frustration that he could never experience an intimate relationship with a woman due to psychological issues during his lifetime.[22] He stated that he had been guided by voices inside his head since birth and that he was being followed by secret agents.[23] Rathjen expressed a hatred for foreigners and called for a mass killing of people from the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa.[24][25]

A couple people get injured in a knife attack by a muslim and the world is coming to an end.

This gets crickets.

Also killed with knives. Also raped and drowned. Also killed by being mowed down by a truck at Christmas. Also shot up with automatic weapons or blown up with bombs. Also decapitated. Far more Europeans were killed by migrants and other Muslims than Muslims have been killed in right-wing reprisal attacks. But I already know which of them you (and the media) think is a problem and which you think is not.

This gets crickets.
I do not condone such attacks of course, but they are an understandable outcome of creeping islamization of Germany and Europe in general.
Expect more of this to come because German politics has effectively made opposition to mass migration unacceptable politically, with far-right AfD (Alternative für Deutschland, "The Alternative for Germany") the only party that is taking up a clear position against it.

I do not know if you follow German politics at all, but German state of Thuringia. The Landtag (state parliament) was rather split with no party or even a plausible coalition able to form the majority. So initially a FDP (classical liberal) prime minister was elected to a minority FDP/CDU minority government with toleration by AfD. The outcry was big from Merkel's federal CDU (Merkel is the person most responsible for the abysmal mishandling of the migration crisis) and FDP and the prime minister Thomas Kemmerich was pressured to resign. So now the Die Linke (Left Party) prime minister has been elected with votes from supposedly conservative CDU. Die Linke wants open borders and doesn't want anybody, including rejected asylum seekers who have committed crimes, to be deported.

"Volkstod" (death of the people) means that they want Germans to go extinct. Sure, the banner itself is by the Antifa, but there is a "Die Linke" logo on the truck door. "Bleiberecht für Alle" means "right to stay for everyone", meaning all illegal migrants.

Die Linke, especially in the East, are direct successors of the East German ruling communist party.

In brief, the political situation is that it has been made impossible to do anything about the mass migration crisis. Many Germans fear not only the increased crime and danger of terrorist attacks but in the long term the loss of their culture and national identity something left wing radicals in Germany are actively seeking out! So expect things to get worse and worse with people taking things into their own hands.
DANKE MERKEL!

Wow, it only took one post to tacitly rationalize the attack.

Well explaining why it happened and why it's probably going to get worse given insane self-hating German left wing and incompeetent ruling politicians unwilling to do anything about mass migration is not the same as justifying the attack. What's wrong with offering an explanation that goes beyond "non-Muslim white people are çok bad, m-kay"?

Seeing why the behave as they do and predicting more such behaviour is not rationalizing or condoning it.

To turn this around on Derec, I can see why Palestinians launch rockets at Israel. Israeli policy towards the Palestinians has a lot to do with it. I predict more of it. I don't condone it.

First, your "explanation" is long on conjecture and short on facts - as an explanation, it requires mind-reading. Second, rationalization does not necessarily mean justification. Third, the outrage in the rationalization speaks for itself. Fourth, the OP is not about "non-Muslim white people are çok bad, m-kay", it is about the appearance of hypocrisy from those who routinely publicize immigrant attacks in Germany but keep silent about this one.
