All points are true, but because someone has over extended their hand in their criticism of Islam compared to Christianity sure as shit does not make Islam a great thing. There is some kind of logical fallacy at play here and in other situations you all here would easily see it.

Also, just because many people may be overly attacking Islam doesn't mean that Islam is not oppressive. I understand wanting to defend what is an underdog in America, but in Saudi Arabia they are in charge and total evil. But what about Islam is the evil of Saudi and what is incidental?



Also, I don't like the use of the words Taliban or Sharia referring to Christians. Fundamentalist is better, but not specific to them. Inquisitor kind of fits.

It seems good to hold up the people who are more infected with more virulent christianity or Islam to ridicule and shame. To try and purge them from the meme pool.

Now, if you'd said "The point is that if one is tolerant of Christians despite the evilness of their religion then one ought to be tolerant of Muslims, as well.", that would be a point. But the fact that one ought to be tolerant of Muslims in no way implies one ought to be tolerant of Islam, any more than our tolerance of Christians is a reason to be tolerant of Christianity. See how it works? People keep trying to paint those who attack Islam as attacking Muslims. It's an illegitimate debating tactic.

Well that's just a grammatical mistake on my part.

I did, in fact, mean to refer to Muslims, not to Islam.

In the thread 'Europe Submits Voluntarily', that is how I've argued my point, and I referred to Muslims, not Islam, in my first response in this thread.
