Texas attorney general admits Trump would have lost the state in 2020 if he hadn't
blocked mail-in voting
Ken Paxton on Facebook.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton told Steve Bannon that Donald Trump would have lost the
Lone Star State in the 2020 presidential election if Texans had been allowed to vote by
mail.

[…]
"And just knowing that we had twelve lawsuits that we had to win. And if we had lost one
of them, if we'd lost Harris County — Trump won by 620,000 votes in Texas. Harris County
mail-in ballots that they wanted to send out were 2.5 million, those were all illegal and
we were able to stop every one of them," he explained.

And here we have it. Vote laws in Texas have been created not to make voting safer, but to make sure Democratic voters don't get to vote as much as possible. If Paxton is right, Trump would have lost had there been a fair election without voter discouragement and suppression. And here Paxton is not only admitting what Democrats have been saying about all of this but seems to be bragging about it.

In the next election cycle, all GOP candidates that 'win' election are illegitimate. And should not be seated. The DOJ needs to start an official investigation into Paxton and Abbots voter laws. Our Democtratic leaders need to act decisively with laws suits. probes, investigations and not rely on passing SR 1 and HR1 which Sinema and Manchin seem willing to scuttle. Paxton just handed us a smoking gun.

Paxton is one of the slimiest politicians ever. And stupid for saying this openly for all to hear.

The Republicans have no choice but to cheat. If they don't they will no longer be a national party, their very lifeblood contributions from the corporations and the rich will dry up and go to the Democrats. They saw this in 2008, When it became obvious that Obama would win there was a surge in contributions from Wall Street to the Obama campaign. Wall Street didn't want the health care insurance companies cutout of the universal health care plan that became ObamaCare, because the insurance companies were making boatloads of money in the for-profit insurance scam business that the Republicans had handed to them by Newt Gingrich and the blue-dog Democrat Clinton (male). Biden saw the same contributions from Wall Street when he agreed not to support Medicare for All.

The Republicans have no choice but to cheat. They can't afford to lose any one of the various nutjob components of their support, the gun nuts, the theocrats, the Qanon conspiracy theory believers, the right-to-lifers, the white supremacists, etc. that they would have to do to appeal to independents They have boxed themselves into having to cater to these groups, many of which they created, the Tea Party for example.

The Republicans have no choice but to cheat. They have very little support among the young, and they are losing support among what had been their most loyal voting block, the elderly as the elderly slowly realize that the attacks on "socialism" are attacks on Social Security and Medicare.

The Republicans have no choice but to cheat. The murder of George Floyd eroded the Republicans' no systemic racism position further among white people, the Republicans' core demographic. The CATO institute now supports ending qualified immunity for the police. When the Republicans start to lose the libertarians the writing is on the wall for all to see.
