Texas Voting Machines Are Allegedly Changing Votes For Beto O’Rourke To Ted Cruz

All too Unbelievable....

In terrifying news, some Texas voting machines are switching votes for incumbent Senator Ted Cruz and his opponent, Beto O’Rourke, according to the Houston Chronicle. Apparently, 15-20 voters have experienced incidents during early voting where they’ve used the straight-ticket option (in which the voting machine is supposed to choose the candidates for one party) only to find out that the voting machine has chosen the Senate candidate for the opposing party. What the??

I was one of these people.


I have not previously discussed it with anyone because I didn’t want to sound an alarm until I knew whether or not this was a pattern.


I will detail what I experienced, along with a photo, in this short thread.

I chose the “straight ticket” option for the Democratic Party on the first screen.


Once I toggled through the 16+ page ballot and reached the final screen to review my choices, I saw that my vote for @BetoORourke had been changed to a vote for Ted Cruz.

The way the article is listed makes it sound like it swaps both. Is it only one way, or have instances of it switching either way been documented? A quick google didn't find anything conclusive.

So far, I've seen 3 separate reports, and they all were straight Dem tickets that selected Cruz.

User error? How would the user have committed an error if they selected a straight Dem vote and the machine chose Cruz. That's an issue with the machine not the user.
