Pricipla of sufficient reason. That concept has a name and a history. I just pointed that out for those who may not have heard of it or realized metaphysicians have argued about that for centuries. Does that apply to God also or not? And if not God, why not nature, naturalism?

Yes. Theology cannot prove God exists. (Natural theology). So theology attempts negative theology. Trying to prove there cannot be an actual infinity, an infinite chain of cause and effect. So far without real results in that effort. If there is no possibility of an infinite chain of cause and effect, there must be a first cause. God? Maybe not. That has not been proven in any way.
