It varies from state to state but here in Ohio, all one has to do is vote in a primary and you wear that label. A person's voting record is on line at the board of elections website. How they voted isn't but that you voted in a primary is a pretty good indication.
And our property tax website is just as open. Take that individual's name from the board of elections website and plug it into the property search and viola, there's the individual's home. See a house with an excessive amount of political signage. Want to know who lives there? There's an interactive map fort that.
Color me paranoid but I'd rather unstable individuals or even an employer not have access to this information.
