The interesting thing here is that what constitutes a "House Conservative" has been a moving target for almost a decade. And that target is careening to the right.

John Boehner - the previous winner of the "Most Feckless GOP Speaker" award - seems at once both powerful and just a bit too liberal compared to K-Mac. And while we're on the subject, what constitutes "GOP leadership" seems to be "whatever the most bat-shit insane members of the caucus say." Marjorie Trailer Queen, Granny Bobo, and "Is his name actually?" George Santos seem to have grabbed the lasso and are leading the GOP away from the "steady hand" (sarcasm) of McCarthy's "leadership."

Watching the House GOP today reminds me of that time I was in a multiple vehicle freeway accident back in 2016 that had 2 car fires, shut down the road for 3 hours, made all the news channels that evening and when I went to work the next day my coworkers were like "holy shit...you were in the middle of THAT?"

I wish them well in all their future endeavors.

The problem for the almost sane Republicans is they know the crazy of the GOP loonies may sink the GOP in 2024. And there isn't much they can do about. So far, the almost responsible Republicans get ruthlessly primaried by MAGAts and ousted. The crazies smell the blood in the water and intend to continue their scorched earth politics. Which is beginning to be very unpopular with a majority of Americans.

This is going to get utterly insane in months to come.

When I was a teenager I sunk more money than I will ever admit into Warhammer (Fantasy and 40k). I chose Orcs/Orks for my armies because the nearest hobby shop basically only sold WWII models so they had all the different shades of green paint under the sun. When you used an orc army in Fantasy, every unit had to pass a leadership test for you to control them that turn or that unit would randomly charge at the enemy or fight amongst themselves. It was supposed to emphasise Orcs and Goblins are basically a hooligan army with fuck all organisation, short attention spans and zero long term planning.
