I've been watching this whole thing playing out, and that was really the turning point was Bob Dole's career to enshittify they Republican party and the GOP. Him and Rush Limbaugh were the ones who laid the stage, from my memory of rural America in the 90's and early 00's.

Newt Gingrich had far more to do with that than Bob Dole. Dole was actually one of the last voices of sanity in the GOP....and he is now considered a RINO and would never fit in with MAGA.

The order firstly states:
"Section 1. Purpose. The dishonest and dangerous activity of the law firm Perkins Coie LLP (“Perkins Coie”) has affected this country for decades. Notably, in 2016 while representing failed Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Perkins Coie hired Fusion GPS, which then manufactured a false “dossier” designed to steal an election. This egregious activity is part of a pattern. Perkins Coie has worked with activist donors including George Soros to judicially overturn popular, necessary, and democratically enacted election laws, including those requiring voter identification. In one such case, a court was forced to sanction Perkins Coie attorneys for an unethical lack of candor before the court."

This is bogus because it is a law firm's DUTY to represent the accused, weather innocent or guilty.
Law firms can not be held liable for the alleged crimes of their clients.

Derec, it is clear that the GOP is fixated and set on standing up a fascist state, attacking the rights of Americans, and hiding the policies to do so in corrupted bills pushed under the conservative agenda.

The only way to answer this is to pull 100% of support from their agenda.

If there is something within that agenda you want accomplished at face value YOU WILL NOT GET IT FROM THEM.

If this was a fantasy world, you would be better off dealing with devils, genies, and fairies, because at least then, you KNOW they are trying to roll you.

The better pathway to get what you want would be to burn down that whole party of liars and set up a "clean" movement towards your agenda but I doubt you even have that: you let the agenda and nature of the solutions of the GOP dominate your discourse for the last decade+; any solution you produce at this point will be consistent with the previous ones, which were designed to fail, and produce specific failure case results that hurt everyone but the wealthy.

But rather than taking the sane view and leveling massive and heavy handed suspicion at the GOP, here you are back to parroting their bullshit and running interference on the *checks notes* burning of our constitution.

It doesn't need to be based on anything other than a declaration that the person is a member of a Venezuelan gang. Since there is no due process, the claim doesn't get reviewed by any judge. It could be immigrant or citizen alike.

Perkins Coie publicly announced percentage quotas in 2019 for hiring and promotion on the basis of race and other categories prohibited by civil rights laws. It can be done via due process involving lawyers and courts. But simply making an executive order, that is not valid.
