Ahem.

According to the article after which this thread is named, Democrat states are much better off than are Republican states.

The Path to Prosperity Is Blue http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/31/o...-left-region&WT.nav=opinion-c-col-left-region

This red-blue divergence is all the more striking because red states still receive much more in federal spending relative to the federal taxes their residents pay. In other words, blue states are generally outperforming red states even while heavily subsidizing them.

Why are red states no longer consistently gaining ground? An important reason is that modern knowledge economies increase the rewards for education, research and development and urban hubs that promote the exchange of ideas and development of talent. This has made local conditions more important even in this age of globalization. And the places where these effects have been most successfully promoted are overwhelmingly blue.

So what I want the democrats to do is threaten to restructure tax outlays to reflect state contributions. Get off the federal gravy train red states!! Try pulling your weight like like the blue states.

Puleez some conservative try to make the case this article is wrong. IOW Make My Day! The rest of you begin pointing out examples in your state. We need all the fodder we can get to put down those angry white male freeloading complainers.

The GOP wants badly to cut give aways like food stamps. Grrrrr! Welfare creates dependency in the layabout class! Grrrr! Yes, they want to slash things like food stamps. Grrrrr! Entitlements bad! Take responsibility for yourselves and get a job! And what states are heavily dependent of food stamps and such welfare programs? Why those bad old Red States. Mississippi, Alabama, Lousiana... Those poor, economically feeble parasite states. Mississippi, Alabama, Lousiana... Maybe we should let them do that. Let them Red State conservative voters get what they ask for. That would show 'em! The Red State voters should listen to their yarping Red State leaders, and the Red Sate leaders should listen to their yowling Red State voters.
