The probable loss of the ASTRO-H (Hitomi) X-Ray telescope

JAXA has had some bad luck recently...

This is about as sad as far as a scientific probe loss can be.

This has me a bit leery about the James Webb Space Telescope. That would be the most massive possible loss.

No, the worst would be the ISS.

Looks like it is a bad week for satellites. We could now be losing Kepler too unless someone can do something fast.

Kepler was living on borrowed time anyway. It was already running on two reaction wheels and you need three to properly control a satellite.
