President Trump on Friday signed four executive orders aimed at lowering drug prices, seeking to take action on a key issue for voters in an election year. The orders signed by Trump would move towards allowing states to develop plans to import cheaper drugs from Canada, eliminate a system of drug discounts known as rebates in a bid to simplify the system, and seek to make EpiPens and insulin more affordable for patients of community health centers. It is unclear, though, when the moves can be finalized and take effect. Trump also announced a fourth, more sweeping order, seeking to slash the price that Medicare pays for drugs to be in line with prices paid in other countries, what Trump called "most favored nation" status for the U.S..

Finally. Trump actually does something right. Of course back in December 2019 when Elijah Cummings introduced bills to reform drug pricing, the GOP Senate, and Jim Jordan obstructed his efforts. Trump's executive orders short circuit further GOP possible obstructionism.

I read that as,

TRUMP SENDS PHARMA JOBS OVERSEAS AMIDST HIGHEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATES IN US.

Wasn't Chinese manufacturing supposed to "make products more affordable"? Or is that "sending jobs overseas"... which is it, bucko?

My take is that he is doing this to throw a bone to seniors now that they are beginning to desert him.

It would be great if he gets more and more progressive with his policies as his base starts to turn on him.

Originally it was a much more granular plan: free Cialis, which polled at 92% with male seniors. Then Trump was shown the polling with female seniors: 15%, with such comments as, "No thanks, I just started bridge club," "I just redid the bedroom suite in rattan, so no goddamn way", and "What is dead shall remain unresurrected until the judgment day, and even then..."
