The United States has had some political dynasties: the Adamses, the Roosevelts, the Kennedys, and the Bushes.

With discussion of some of soon-to-be-ex-pResident Trump's children running for office, let us consider what they might run for.

The Presidency? Congress? Some state's governor position? Some state's legislature? Some city's mayor position? Some city council?

With all but the Presidency, they can choose some place where they would have an easy win, at least in the general election. Some heavily Republican state or city or district where their only competition would be fellow Republicans.

But the Presidency is the greatest prize in US politics, so I'll think of that.

With Trump headed for defeat, he has a chance to run for one more term in 2024. That would make him the first President since Grover Cleveland to serve two discontinuous terms, the only President to have ever done so.

Of Trump's children, Don Jr, Ivanka, and Eric are eligible for the Presidency. Junior can be President until 2032, Ivanka until 2040, and Eric until 2048.

Tiffany Trump will become eligible in 2028, so she can continue the dynasty to 2056. Barron will become eligible in 2041, so he can continue it to 2064.

Let's see about their children.

Junior has 5 children by his former wife Vanessa Kay Haydon. The two married in 2005 and divorced in 2018. His children should be eligible starting in 2056 or earlier, and they can continue the dynasty for 40 years.

Ivanka has 3 children by her husband Jared Kushner, born on 2011, 2013, and 2016. They will become eligible on 2046, 2048, and 2051, and they can continue the dynasty for 24 years.

Eric Trump has 2 children by his wife Lara Yunaska, born on 2017 and 2019. They will become eligible on 2052 and 2054, and they can continue the dynasty for 16 years.

So their children can continue the dynasty for 80 years if any of them can live long enough to do so. Part of the way into their terms their grandchildren will become eligible, and they can continue the dynasty even further.

If only some of Trump's children and grandchildren and further descendants wish to carry on the Trump dynasty, then only 4 or 5 of them per generation need to, so the dynasty can survive loss of some of its possible members.
