Multiple supporters of President Donald Trump over the past couple of weeks have taken to Twitter to air their grievances about the president’s signature tax cut plan.

Even though the 2017 GOP tax cut is leading to spiking federal deficits thanks to its generous benefits to corporations, many middle-class Americans are winding up having to pay more because the bill eliminated multiple deductions used by middle-class families to lower their annual tax payments.

Any example you got?

A lot of those accounts are suspect bots (and some are pretty much confirmed to be). Having said that, it points out how well propaganda works.

The GOP has spent the past 40 years convincing people that the government of the US was incompetent (and they keep getting elected to prove it), and that paying taxes is the most evil thing that one could do.

GOP: let's lock up children and separate them from their parents just for seeking asylum.
MAGAts: Ok, sounds good.

GOP: Nazis are ok, fine people.
MAGAts: Agreed!

GOP: Rape in college is just boys being boys.
MAGAts: You betcha!

GOP: Tax cuts for millionaires.
MAGAts: Sounds good to us.

GOP: your taxes will go up slightly.
MAGAts: This is outrageous!!

On a somewhat more serious note. I would love to see an experiment where people could somehow earmark their taxes into some broad categories that the government would only be allowed to spend on those things.

1) Defense
2) R&D (non-defense)
3) infrastructure (non-education)
4) social programs (non-education)
5) education
6) interiors (non-infrastructure like national parks)
7) other civil service (ATC, others?)

It would be an interesting experiment to see how people would really like to prioritize their tax dollars. Maybe they wouldn't feel so bad about paying them.

Everything Trump does is to give more to the ultra rich.

Everything he says is to make the dogs howl in delight.

That would be a good idea. I’d be interested to see how Americans would prioritize health care in relation to other things.
