What, you want a house? Hahaha, you can't buy one without getting past barriers from the 50's.

You want health insurance when you have pre-conditions? heh, just die already.

You want public television? Hahahaha, go read some books at the library.

You want funding for your art? No way, Jose.

Public radio? No, read my tweets instead.

Humanities funding? Definitely not. That's where the liberals are.

You need a job? No unemployment you had paid into, just get a job building the Great Again Wall. Mexico will pay you.

You want Medicaid? Too bad. Suck it up and get tough!

The rich don't need social services.

So obviously they are unnecessary.

When the goal is to make oneself master over others.

You're right. The primary benefit of social programs is survival [let's call it risk mitigation of death] when in inopportune circumstances. The more money you have on hand, the less risk you have for needing such program because when inopportune circumstances strike, you are more likely to be able to handle it yourself. I will add, though, that NPR, PBS, etc also benefit the poor by providing educational media that correlates to greater economic mobility--thus a greater health. These things are all personal to me, having been poor as a child seeing first-hand benefits of such programs.
