Was there ever a revolution where the results were immediately positive?

The American Revolution was neither American nor a revolution, discuss.

But seriously, it was unlike France, Russia, China and most other "revolutions" in that was against the rule of a distal foreign power. It was somewhat of a blend between a revolution and expelling an occupying power. The people who were killed and defeated were essentially foreigners rather than members of the community whose associates and relatives remained part of the post-revolution community.

Eh, while it wasn't like the French, Russian, or Chinese revolutions, it also wasn't exactly like defeating a foreign, distant power. In the decades leading up to the war, most Americans thought of themselves as British, and culturally they were very similar. Indeed, most of the people who would become 'Patriots' started out as advocating for their 'Rights as Englishmen.' There was a significant portion of the population that remained loyal to the crown during the revolution, people who fought and were killed in the war, many of which were expelled to Canada at the end. Plenty of slaves were freed by the British and fought as loyalists. It was a colony gaining its independence. Prior to the start of the actual fighting, especially outside of New England, most people did not care since the issues really only affected the wealthy or New Englanders.

The Glorious Revolution wasn't a revolution as such; it was an invasion by a foreign army - just not one that met military resistance. You could as well describe the invasion of Norway by the Nazis as a 'revolution'.

Technically, that's referred to as a 'liberation'. Not really the same thing.
