This makes me angry too. What is also making me angry is the first stirrings of the usual far right "blame Obama" crap. There are two major oversight committees for the VA, the Senate and House committees.
These committees have both Republicans and Democrats. So there is enough failure to go around for the Committee members who failed despite the fact that complaints go back years. If the GOP tries to make this into a political witch hunt, its time to call these assholes on this. Shinseki became head of the VA in 2009.
To think all of this started then and the VA was perfect before is bull. How did this all develop and why did nobody on the oversight committees notice?
What failures are occuring now that oversight committees are missing? Will the hypercritical GOP learn from this that committees like this have a job to do?
