Evidently, Will Ferrell performed a Saturday Night Live skit where he was an F-16 pilot with the callsign: Clown Penis.

The pilot explained that he picked it because, “When an enemy sees me on his tail, I want him to feel the same way that you’d feel if a clown showed you his penis: Confused, unsettled, and most of all very, very scared.”

Well and good. Someone at Military.com researched the matter and determined that 'Clown Penis' Is Not a Realistic Callsign for Pilots

I, um, i knew that. The closest i've ever been to the air force is when they flew the crew back from Scotland in a 747, and i don't know if the pilots even HAD callsigns, but i knew they wouldn't be 'Clown Penis.'

I can't imagine anyone is suddenly going to try to sign up for fighter school in the hope of being the next Clown Penis.

How desperate does an editor have to be to assign a reporter to 'go find out if there's a Clown Penis in a plane somewhere'? Although they probably started with the squadron where they drew a penis in the sky...
