Once Trump is out of office (whether that's in 2020 or 2024) and his cozy relationship with Putin is gone, will the red scare return to the Republican party?

I would expect so, since the Right was comfortable with it's self-image as being the staunch opponent of Russia for decades, right up until Trump made kissy-kissy sounds.Once Trump is out of office (whether that's in 2020 or 2024) and his cozy relationship with Putin is gone, will the red scare return to the Republican party?
The GOP isn't entirely cozy with Russia to begin with. Actions have been taken against Russia during the Trump Administration. Which makes their silence on what Trump has said or tried to do, all the more worrisome. Of course, Putin doesn't give a fuck what the GOP says or does.Once Trump is out of office (whether that's in 2020 or 2024) and his cozy relationship with Putin is gone, will the red scare return to the Republican party?

It never left. "Red scare" is a label that describes anti-communist sentiment, which has nothing to do with current-day Russia. There is no shortage of fear-mongering in Republican and Democratic politics about the dangers of communism, socialism, or anything to the left of Nixon for that matter. That hasn't subsided at all, and why should it? Russia is a right-wing corrupt oligarchist nation.

Fixed it.
