Is there any evidence in support of those charges?
In particular, is there evidence that the student cited by Weiss was talking about refraining from using racial slurs, rather than from expressing her opinions?

At least, the Twitter feed does not suggest anything like that. Look at this reply: "Thanks Bari for speaking out on this. I try hard to speak my mind. It's a lot easier at home and with friends than at work, but it's hard everywhere. "

In general, I haven't seen any complaints involving the use of racial slurs, and only a small minority of complaints mention people who quote racial slurs or talk about a racial slur without using the racial slur (i.e., without suggesting anything negative about the race in question), and get condemned as if they were using the racial slur. But for the most part, it involves censorship of other opinions, not those that involve talking about and/or quoting racial slurs.
