Comcast's Great Customer Service Hits Another Home Run

Definitely a PR problem for Comcast. Management isn't going to condone calling a customer an asshole even though at many times they probably wanted to. It slipped through the crack and it was probably just some person that either got fed up personally with that account or in general or was pissed at his job. I think we forget a lot of time calling customer service that the person trying to fix your issue is just trying to get a paycheck too and just do his/her job.

I read that story yesterday. I believe the hard push was on to keep the customer and/or his service level. If you're in a position where it's your job to badger people into services they don't want, you should have a thick skin.
So the individual was fired. I'll throw caution to the wind and say it was a low paying job that the individual didn't much care about. So, he'll go get another crappy job. There will probably be more and more of this. Why should anyone care when so much has been reduced to low paying jobs? Just hop from one crappy job to the next.

Yup. They claim they want their retention guys to behave but they put in performance standards that ensure they can't.

Sometimes it blows up in their face.
