One thing that I just don't quite understand in all this back and forth over Iran's alleged desire to build a bomb and lob it in the direction of Israel is this:
Israel has nuclear weapons. Quite a few, by all estimates. They are the sole nuclear armed power in the Middle East.
Yet they are acting as if they are a tiny helpless nation whose very existence is threatened by the merest suggestion that Iran might someday be able to build one crude nuclear device.
At what point (if ever) are they going to say to Tehran "you know we've got a contingent of nuclear missiles and they're all pointed at you...your move."?
Israel possesses what has been proven to be the best deterrent to nuclear war...more nuclear weapons than their potential opponent.
Yet for some reason they won't even cop to having what everyone knows they have.
It boggles the mind. It's like the bully in school who has already beaten the crap out of everyone in his class running to the teacher and saying "help me, the other kids want to beat me up and I don't know what to do!"
