It depends on how you interpret woke. To me, woke is not leftist ideas or leftist ideals. Woke is a demand that everyone signs up to the leftist ideals. It's to ridcule and attack those who don't agree.

To give an over the tope example. Africa is poor. It's a perfectly valid inference that the problem is something about black people. Holding that opinion (I don't) doesn't make the person a monster. Or the Middle-East. A perfectly valid inference is that there's something about Arab or Muslim culture that's the problem. Not a monster. Or medicade. It's both true that it's good for USA that healthcare is more eavenly distributed and it is also very expensive for USA. Those or irrefutably both true. Agreeing or disagreeing doesn't make a person a monster. It's simply down to what inferences we draw and what we think will be the consequences of the choice and if those consequences are net positive or negative.

The problem with the woke mindset is that it doesn't leave room for a discussion.

And now we have the "woke right". Tucker Carlsen for instance. Who behave like the wokes, but on the right.

Democracy isn't just a set of rules. Democracy is a behaviour. We all need to agree to respect eachothers differences and do our best to see the humanity in eachother. If we don't... we're fucked. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a fascist or a narcissist.

The tone of political debate needs to be less extreme.

Do you think the US right would have tolerance for your lifestyle?

No. But I don't live in USA. I live in Denmark. A super tolerant country. When I moved from Sweden, because I was sick of the moralism of the country, I on purpose wanted to move to the worlds most tolerant and liberal city. I had the means and ability to move anywhere on Earth. USA wasn't on my shortlist. Singapore was, for instance. A way more free culture than USA. Even though the laws aren't.

I picked Copenhagen because it's one of the most tolerant cities on Earth. It's on par with Amsterdam and Berlin.

You can be a fascist in Denmark and go out on town and have a good time. When I first moved here I saw the leader of the local fascist party have a beer and joking around with a black lesbian queer activist. This is Denmark. I love this place. They can disagree and still respect eachother.

They also have a culture where people can (and do) just blurt out exactly what's on their mind. Even if it's hurtful. And that's considered socially acceptable. It sucks if you're different. But it's still a place where those that are different move to. This is a Germanic thing. So hard to explain to someone culturally anglo-saxon. But this is the culture and I love it. It makes debating so much easier.

There's of course plenty of problem with Denmark. But I'm focusing on the positive and why I moved here.

It's hilarious how no matter how much you explain that "wokeness" is arbitrary these morons will continue with spewing their dumbass bullshit no matter what.

When DrZ said there were liberals rioting all over the US it's pretty damned clear he has no idea about what is going on here, about woke, or any US subject, for that matter.

It's the liberals fault for being intolerant but the right wing has been far more violent than the left. When you resort to violence that's pretty damned intolerant.

And suddenly you're the intolerant one if you dare say you don't want to associate with someone who considers LBGTQ people "mentally ill", for example. Somehow that's bigotry, and a "bigger" bigotry than considering LBGTQ people mentally ill.

The thing with tolerance, is that you just need to start and hope the other side goes along with it. Intolerance breeds intolerance. But tolerance unfortunately doesn't necessarily breed tolerance. That requires some self work and practicing restraint.

The right has always been associated more with intolerance than the left. But the first 20 years of this century it was the left who were the leaders of intolerance. Woke is dead (or at least dying) now. So that intolerance is likely to die down. But what we have now is the intolerance right reaction to the woke. And that sucks.

Well, my point is, the most successful hateful people, the most accomplished sociopaths have victims who do not see them coming.

It is a tried and true strategy for such people to make sure the people you despise do not know you despise them until they are under your power to do to them what your spite directs.

Personally, I despise, specifically, those whose spite drives them to harm others for no other reason than their own spite; I realize that as time goes on, groundings for my own spite-of-spite will decrease and shrink and perhaps I will be bitter and frustrated; and if I am, I will find solace in my frustrations being caused by my own success.

Last I knew, "spite for unilateral spite" is not "spite for the sake of spite", hence the falseness of the paradox of tolerance.

I think most of all, the last defense of spite for spite's sake is making people confuse it with spite for unilateral spite.
