NFL 2025

Patriots dismiss the Giants with ease. Bye week up next, then the AFC East title is effectively up for grabs as they take on Buffalo at home. Broncos have 2 hard ones, 2 easy ones coming up. Patriots likewise, but the two hard ones up front. AFC North have 4-8 Bengals just two games behind the Ravens and Steelers who have the same record at 6-6.

Da Bears somehow are 9-3 despite having only a +6 point differential. The NFC overall is crazy. Each team in the playoffs being within a game or two of each other, resulting in the NFC division leaders have someone biting at their heels.

There was one egregiously bad call that might have affected the outcome, but still that fact remains that the Cowboys were just out-played and out-coached by the Lions.

Browns might not have won the game had they successfully managed the two-point conversion near the end of the game against the Titans, but we certainly will never have known when the Browns decided to change things up with a crafted play that looks as if they never practiced it before.

Chiefs are showing just how hard it is to do what the Patriots did for the 17 or so years they dominated the AFC. The Chiefs need to win out and others to collapse to make playoffs. The Bills remain the final old guard team with the Ravens losing to the Steelers.

Meanwhile the tight NFC manages to get even tighter!

As terrible as my Cardinals are they are currently in line for the 8th pick in the first round of the draft. I can't imagine there being 7 worse teams.

I’m not big on conspiracy theories, but the Raiders, behind by 10, getting a delay of game call against the defense and then kicking a FG as time expired to cover the 8.5 spread makes me say, “Hmmm”.

It also covered the over/under by half a point. But at least that'd be for money, Browns looked like they gave up the game for a better shot at the first overall pick... I think they even played the Benny Hill sketch music during the play in real time.

Stefanski is so weird with his persistence on taking Sanders out at the goal line.

The Patriots missed the playoffs a couple times in that span, so can't say this dynasty is dead yet.

The Steelers are still far from clinching, don't bury the Ravens yet. That's the refs' job. Looked like Jackson is starting to get his superpowers back so they could get better. They do have the much tougher schedule though.

Bears went from number one seed to number seven with the loss. NFC top seed and every division could be up for grabs in the final week.

Caleb Williams has improved this year in a couple of areas, namely sacks and procedure penalties, but he still is awful at accuracy. I checked Josh Allen's stats his first couple years and Williams has comparable ones so maybe he can still improve there. Not sure how long the Bears should want to wait though, because this team would probably be winning a lot easier with just a league average quarterback.

But I really just came here to say Rams are number one! in the nfc for at least one more week

The only thing worse than being an Eagles fan this morning is being married to one. But that’s true every morning.

Last night’s game was very entertaining, if you like train wrecks. Six turnovers - in the first half, including a possibly never-done-before double turnover by the Eagles QB who threw a pick and fumbled on the same play.

In other games:

The Taylor Swift effect has proved to have a fairly short half-life, as the Chiefs have a 90% chance of missing the playoffs. Not getting those favorable calls from the zebras as often as they used to.

Steelers-Ravens proved that we will know if the JFK assassination was a conspiracy before we know the answer to “What is a catch?”.

The Colts are in such trouble that they’re trying out 44-year old Philip Rivers today. I’m surprised he’d take time away from his life’s work of keeping his wife continuously pregnant.

Shedeur Sanders isn’t half bad, but since he’s a browns QB, he will be eventually.

Rams are the best team in the league, except when they take a week off. Then it’s the Seahawks. But they have to wonder if Darnold will implode again this January.

The team in the gambling capital of the world kicked a field goal as time expired - not to win, just to lose by a small enough margin to cover the spread while also beating the over. Nothing to see here, move along.

The Bills are well on their way to being 0-5 in the Super Bowl.

Cris Collinsworth would divorce his wife and marry Patrick Mahomes in a heartbeat.

I'd say Sanders did well against a bad team. Need to give him time to establish himself... hopefully at another franchise. I don't get the Cult of Sanders, but I think he deserves a shot like any other guy out there.

Eagles are repeating history with yet another second half of season collapse. They have time to remedy it, but they still need to actually remedy it.

Chiefs dynasty isn't dead, yet. I was just noting that being that good for that long is very very very hard. They have a keystone in Mahomes, but one needs to remember, Brady only had Gronkowski (the first Kelce) for a portion of his career in New England. A lot of talent came and went in New England to make that insane run. And some of the talent was good precisely because New England used them well. David Patten wasn't seeing anywhere near the same success as receiver in Cleveland or New York. And oh my gosh... I had no idea he died in 2021!

Eagles will demonstrate whether they are going to collapse out of playoff contention or maybe might have a decent shot with their game against the Raiders.

Patriots play for the AFC East. Apparently a win today will give them the division, while a loss will tighten their advantage to just one game. Presumably a tie at the end of the season gives it to the Bills as the Patriots will likely be losing to teams that hurt the tie breakers.

As anyone would have guessed at the beginning of the season, this week's matchup between the Chargers and Chiefs will be a last gasp attempt by the Chiefs to get the last seed while the Chargers are hoping for some luck and a chance to take the division as they look to solidify their playoff bid.

Games in the NFC are all must win. The difference between the first and last seed is one game.
