After Venezuela accused the United States of plotting another coup, State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki rejected the claim as "ludicrous." She said, "As a matter of long-standing policy, the United States does not support political transitions by non-constitutional means."

O RLY?

Ok, that's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. Thank you for that.

But it was a very long time ago.

That's where the "long standing" part comes into play....1953 in Iran, later cases in Chile, central America, various south American countries, Asia. We were always on the side of the good guys! We have been supporting democracy all over the world. No coups here!;)
